Field Service Technician

Position Summary

The Field Service Technician will work closely with the inside and outside sales teams, quality, product management and engineering to provide post-sales technical support including, but not limited to, product troubleshooting, installation assistance, warranty claim resolution, etc. This role will be responsible for professionally communicating the proposed solution(s) to sales and quality management, the company’s independent sales representatives and/or contractors.

Monday-Friday | 8:00am-5:00pm

Position Responsibilities
  • Facilitate resolution to all post sales warranty claims & field issues
  • Interface with internal company departments to aid in field service issues
  • Provide weekly reporting of warranty claims to management
  • Make direct contact with field-related positions as needed
  • Manage the inspection, testing & disposition of RGAs related to warranty claims
  • Assist with root cause analysis & participate in the corrective action process
  • Plan, develop & conduct necessary troubleshooting skills training for insides sales
  • Evaluate installations & conduct necessary troubleshooting skills training for insides sales
  • Work closely with Sales to identify & prioritize post-sales activity
  • Negotiate labor proposals with outside contractors as needed
Position Requirements
  • Strong electrical & mechanical aptitude with knowledge of lighting
  • Excellent communication & lighting product troubleshooting skills
  • Moderate traveling, often on short notice
Desirable Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or related technical field
  • 2-3 years of experience in field service or related field
  • Demonstrated ability of strong customer service & technical skills
