Applications Technician
Position Summary
We are seeking an Applications Technician who will be responsible for a broad range of duties within the organization from new product development, implementation and customer support. Position Responsibilities
- Answer technical questions from customers, agencies & internal departments
- Recommend specific products & options to suit application
- Compute detailed light calculations for a given application to project field performance
- Read & analyze construction blue prints
- Provide detailed job layouts with fixtures, circuitry, power supplies & mounting data
- Consult on the development of product configuration software tools
- Educate & train internal staff on solutions as a result of field problems
- Work with Quality Control to eliminate field service issues
- Participate in agent training by covering applications support services
- Evaluate lab-generated photometry reports & create IES files
- Be able to submit DLC applications to qualify new & existing product
- Interpret national, state & municipal energy codes throughout the organization
- Attend IES events to stay current with new & revised standards
Position Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Equivalent Technical Field & Design Emphasis
- Knowledge of Electrical & Mechanical Components Assembly
- Experience with Lumen-Micro & AGI software
Desirable Qualifications
- Exceptional communication & written skills
- Construction background with Working Knowledge or Electrical Wiring
- 5 Years in Lighting Industry, 2 years in Field Service or Applications Engineering
