Controls Engineer
Position Summary
We are seeking a Controls Engineer who will work across a cross-functional support team consisting of technical services, customer service and field services to provide troubleshooting help, answer programming and commissioning questions, and assist with documentation for use in lighting assemblies. The successful candidate will be an accountable, resource problem solver who is able to work around technical obstacles. Position Responsibilities
- Conduct research into the feasibility, design, operation, and performance of electrical and electronic components, assemblies, and systems
- Focus on the vetting, validation, and implementation of 3rd party control systems for use in varying products and applications
- Troubleshoot for root cause analysis of electrical structures including wired and wireless control systems using typical power supply
- Design control systems, including sensor layouts, throughout commercial facilities
- Provide customer support with product information, troubleshooting, and programming or commissioning of various controls
- Program devices, applications, and interfaces to support lighting controls development
- Conduct testing analysis of new control products
- Assist in photometric design layouts and maintenance of technical product data
- Interface with other departments to ensure timely delivery of assigned work
- Prepare materials, reports, and design, programming and installation documentation
Position Requirements
- Bachelor of Science Electrical or Electronics Engineering or equivalent
- 5 years of experience in Electrical Engineering or related field
Desirable Qualifications
- Experience with Autodesk AutoCAD software
- Experience with Autodesk Revit
- Self-disciplined with an ability to work independently
- Demonstrated experience working across a cross-functional team
- Systems-level thinker with the ability to see the whole project
- Self-starter, capable of keeping up in a fast-paced environment
- Computer skills using Microsoft Office Products
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
